CBI registers fresh disproportionate assets case against DySP Brij Mohan Meena
Mumbai: More than a year after booking its own DySP Brij Mohan Meena in a corruption case, the CBI registered another case against him and his wife recently for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.The CBI said that between 2021 and 2024, Meena enriched himself illicitly and acquired assets in his name and in the name of his wife worth Rs 98 lakh, which was 87.84% disproportionate to their known sources of income.Last year, the CBI registered a corruption case against Meena, who was posted at the Bank Securities and Fraud Branch of the CBI in Mumbai, along with seven others for collecting bribes exceeding Rs 5 crore by intimidating his case suspects and witnesses and layering the bribe money through middlemen.The CBI searched his premises then and recovered documents related to properties and assets.After examining those documents, the CBI registered a disproportionate assets case against him and his wife, Sunita Meena.After examining those documents, the CBI registered a disproportionate assets case against him and his wife, Sunita Meena.
